The total value committed to the Ethereum recovery protocol EigenLayer exceeded $15 billion after the project recently lifted its limits.
The platform allows users to stake native ether and liquid ether, which are then redeployed to secure other protocols.
The TVL jump came after EigenLayer expected launch on April 9, allowing actively validated services to come online.
The project has added several updates since its launch, most recently to lower the minimum commitment for the operators on the data availability layer EigenDA, from 320 ETH to 96 ETH.
After the recent update, EigenLayer launched six new actively validated services, which have a wide range of functionalities to meet different needs in the Ethereum ecosystem. The added services include AltLayer, Brevis, Eoracle, Lagrange, WitnessChain and Xterio.
EigenLayer generated a significant amount of buzz ahead of its launch attracted cloud divisions of high-profile names like Google, Coinbase and HashKey to join the project’s protocol operators.
“EigenLayer reinforces the utility of ETH as collateral for economic security,” says EigenLayer founder Sreeram Kannan wrote on X. “The more ETH is available as collateral, the greater the incentive to set ETH as a risk asset.”
